From Hallim Park, we told our taxi driver, Mr Won, to take us to the Jeju Loveland, followed by the Mysterious Road.
Jeju Loveland is an outdoor erotic sculpture park focused on a theme of sex and featuring many sculptures representing humans in various sexual positions that is artistically and tastefully done. It is located next to the another museum, Jeju Museum of Art.
** I had booked at private taxi tour to bring us to selected attractions on the Western part of Jeju-do (similar private taxi tour can be booked at Trazy.com).
Upon approaching the destination, Mr Won chuckled as he pointed out the near empty car park outside the Museum of Art, while the car park for Loveland was packed with tour buses and cars.
We bought our tickets (9000 KRW each) and entered the park amongst bus loads of tourists, including Koreans. As we moved about to view the various sculptures, we could hear loud laughter and giggles from a group of elderly Korean women. They were certainly enjoying themselves and having a good laugh at the various exhibits displayed. So this is not just a place for Korean honeymooners. I must say the exhibits were nicely done, quite artistic, and humorous too. Quite unique and definitely worth a visit.
Ladies should try going to the female toilet. The door handle is a ….. ha ha, shall not say. The park offers many photo opportunities, although I will not post any of my pictures here.
Upon leaving the car park, the Mysterious Road is just a few hundred meters away, to the left.
This is a place where vehicles will seemingly defy the laws of gravity and roll UP a hill, instead of downhill, when placed on free gear, engine off and no brakes. He let us experienced the optical illusion in his taxi.
We then came down to take some pictures and see the tour buses having a go.

The video above shows a tour bus trying out the mysterious road – defying the law of gravity. Mr Won could be heard in the above video, talking to us about the Mysterious Road. He was so worried for the safety of those tourists standing in the middle of the road. LOL.

After this, Mr Won took us back to Lotte Hotel via highway 1139. This highway goes though the western shoulder of Mount Halla (Hallasan). We made a stop at 1100m rest point to have a quick look. By then, the sky was a bit dark and it was actually quite cold at this high attitude.
We said our farewell to Mr Won at Lotte Hotel. He took a picture of us with his mobile phone so he could remember us too.
Dinner for this night was simple: just cup noodles that we bought on Day 1 and tea from the hotel room. We then check out the Duty Free shop within Lotte Hotel where my wife bought some Korean and International branded cosmetics and beauty products. It was much cheaper here than back home.
